There is no charge to enter the North East Culture Awards.

You may enter as many categories as you wish, but you must complete a separate submission for each category.

Once you have submitted your entry you will receive an email confirming that we have received your nomination.

Entries can only be accepted from individuals, businesses, groups etc who are based in the North East of England.

All information provided in the entry form is strictly confidential and only for use in the judging process and viewed by the judging panel.

Entries will close at 5pm on 25 July 2022. If entries are submitted after this deadline they may not be included in the judging packs.

The judging will take place on 5 August 2022. All finalists will be contacted by email or telephone shortly after this date.

A distinguished panel of experts will meet to choose the finalists. 

Winners will be announced on Thursday 8 September at a special awards ceremony taking place at Durham Cathedral.

The dress code is smart / casual.

Please email the event manager who will send you details of any negotiated rates with local hotels.

There are some areas of Durham Cathedral that are not fully accessible however we will not be utilising these areas for the awards ceremony. Accessible toilets are available through the cloister. Please tell the event manager your access needs and we will make any necessary arrangements.

There is no parking at the Cathedral itself or nearby. There is also a congestion charge if you drive onto the Durham City peninsula. We recommend using public transport or Park and Ride schemes. Find out more here.

Sponsors will have reserved, allocated seats. Finalists and ticket purchasers will be able to choose from any of the unreserved pews. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to help you find a seat.
