Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) is a partnership which works with our five local authorities; Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees, our Business Board, wider business community and others to make local decisions to support the growth of our economy.

TVCA’s Growth Programme for the Creative and Visitor Economies is a £20.5million project to drive forward the region’s cultural, creative and hospitality sectors and its destination marketing and management operation.

It provides dynamic, versatile and accessible assistance for sector businesses to support cluster formation and development.

Tees Valley is the location for a UK Investment Zone which will provide £160million to support and develop the creative and digital industries.

We are providing game-changing support for the creative industries across key sectors.

Tees Valley is a leading partner in the North East Screen Industries Partnership, which sees the wider geography unite behind shared ambitions for screen industry growth.

Sonic Futures is our flagship music development and sector support programme for Tees Valley and the new Northern Music Export Office established through a collaboration between the Tees Valley Combined Authority, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, and the North East Combined Authority to accelerate the international growth of the North’s music sector is being delivered by music industry experts Generator.

Our innovative Artist of the Year programme offers direct support for local creative talent by providing just over £30,000 of investment and a year-long programme of strategic support to accelerate their development and help them reach a crucial career tipping point.

The Engine Room is another transformative programme designed to position Tees Valley as a nationally recognised centre for creative production and export. It aims to grow our region’s cultural economy by investing in talent, infrastructure, and business support, while aligning with the Tees Valley Investment Zone. This is made possible through investment from Arts Council England and TVCA and delivered in partnership with Arc, Creative Factory, MIMA and New Writing North.
